RAMAC — Roxbury Area Model Airplane Club

The 2026 flying season is underway at the Roxbury Area Model Airplane Club — is a community of radio-control aviation enthusiasts based in northern New Jersey. The club flies out of the Great Meadows field on Island Road in Warren County, hosts model aviation events year-round, and welcomes new pilots looking to learn alongside experienced flyers — including RC airplane pilots, scale modelers, aerobatic flyers, and drone enthusiasts.

Through the off-season (October through May), the club meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. From May through October, meetings move to the field; specific weeknight or weekend dates go out by email to members.

Great Meadows Field

Island Road, Great Meadows, NJ. Coordinates 40°52′29.2″N, 74°54′51.3″W. Open flying year round.

Field rules & safety

We expect all pilots to act in a safe and courteous manner.

Hours: 7 AM until dark, 7 days a week.
No gas/glow/loud electric before 9 AM Mon–Fri, 10 AM Sat, 11 AM Sun.
Engines need proper noise-restricting exhaust. No propeller ripping.
Throttle kill and fail-safe required.
Small foamies and helis (≤250) at the parking-lot end of the field.
Stand on the edge of the field while flying.
Pack out all garbage. The fire pit is not a garbage can.
3+ pilots flying simultaneously requires a spotter.
Maximum 4 planes flying at once.
No hand-starting propellers without a glove or chicken stick.
Last person leaving locks the gate.
Use common sense at all times.
